MINIFOG® Water Spray Systems

Finally, fire protection for fiberboard presses and other valuable
assets or production equipment. We now offer a reliable solution for protecting your
presses and other objects… MINIFOG®. The MINIFOG® system was developed in Germany by
Minimax, a worldwide leader in the field of fire protection with over a century of expertise. This state of the
art protection is the result of an extensive collaboration with press manufacturers, press-end-users, German insurance
companies and VdS (German OSHA). If you have been considering or utilizing ceiling sprinklers or fire hoses for the protection of your presses, you may want to take a look at the MINIFOG® system. The MINIFOG® system is typically designed to effectively protect five independent zones: inlet, middle, outlet, upper and lower heat tunnels. The system utilizes a water spray
concentrated in and around the press/object. Here are just a few of the features and benefits of the system.

  • Rapid and reliable identification of fires
  • Instantaneous and dependable extinguishment
  • Totally self-monitoring including supervision of optical integrity
  • High operational reliability
  • Connects to existing water supply before the sprinkler system

The utilization of a water spray for extinguishment is the key. It is a more highly effective use of water for the following reasons:

  • The system typically requires 1/3 the water volume of conventional systems and that means less clean-up and downtime.
  • Fine spray evaporates quickly without damaging equipment and greatly reduces the possibility of damage to steel frames, instrumentation or warping of the belt...
  • It expands more than one thousand times resulting in a larger area being cooled down in a shorter period of time.
  • As it turns into steam and evaporates, it reduces the oxygen concentration suffocating the fire.
